About
Ranfen Li is the Director for the Office of Academic Program Review and Assessment at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Li is responsible for managing the campus-wide review of degree programs, centers, and institutes that were approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) on behalf of the Provost. She is also responsible for coordinating and supporting the campus-wide assessment of student learning for degree programs and general education. During her broader tenure at UIC, Dr. Li also taught courses in assessment in the College of Education and played a key role in supporting UIC’s accreditation and compliance activities with the Higher Learning Commission.
Dr. Li has had about 25 years of experience in higher education administration. Prior to her current role, she was the Interim Dean of Instruction, Associate Dean of Instruction, and Assistant Dean of Institutional Research and Planning at Malcom X College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago. Dr. Li shares her expertise related to assessment and evaluation by serving as an assessment mentor and peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission. She also has extensive experience serving on dissertation committees, evaluating federal grant projects on teacher training, and obtaining federal grants in support of student success.
Ranfen Li received her PhD in Curriculum, Instruction, and Evaluation and MEd in Instructional Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and BA in English Language and British & American Literature from Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
