The Office of Academic Program Review and Assessment (APRA) at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is one of the units in the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Effectiveness (VPAPE).
APRA works on behalf of the Provost to coordinate the campus-wide review of degree programs, centers, and institutes that are approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE). Our Program Review site provides information to facilitate all units as they go through the IBHE-required program review process.
Our office also coordinates and supports the campus-wide assessment of student learning for degree programs and general education. In assessing student learning, our goals are to document the status of student achievement and to provide evidence for future improvement so that UIC’s academic programs can have a sound, ongoing assessment process.
