GE Council

The General Education Assessment Committee was formed in May 2007, immediately before the implementation of new General Education Program in Fall 2007. The committee was instrumental in the design and implementation of General Education assessment at UIC.

In Fall 2015, the General Education Council – a subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Educational Policy (SCEP) – was formed. In addition to assuming responsibility for the first stage of approving general education courses, the council advises the design and implementation of General Education assessment and develop General Education policy. The council consists of one representative from each of UIC’s colleges that offer undergraduate courses, except for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences that has two representatives. The Director of Academic Program Development and Director of Academic Program Review and Assessment serve as ex officio members. To view the council members, please refer to the link below.
